Seattle, Washington – Sweltering summer heat will grip Seattle on Wednesday, with temperatures soaring to 91°F by mid-afternoon — the city’s hottest day this month. A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, warning residents to stay cool, limit outdoor activity, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

According to the National Weather Service, calm morning winds will give way to a dry and sunny afternoon, pushing the mercury well above seasonal norms. North-northwest winds may pick up to 5 mph around 3 p.m., but relief will be minimal. Officials advise staying indoors during peak sun hours and avoiding non-essential travel, especially on I-5 and SR-520, where heat can buckle pavement.

The heat tapers slightly Thursday with a high near 85°F under mostly sunny skies. Friday will be a touch cooler, reaching 82°F, but still dry and bright. By the weekend, cloud cover increases slightly with highs in the upper 70s — still warm but more manageable for outdoor plans. Overnight lows will hold near 60°F through Sunday.

Looking ahead, temperatures dip to the mid-70s early next week with continued dry conditions. No rain is expected through Monday, July 21, and wildfire risk may rise with prolonged dryness. Residents should stay weather-aware and conserve water where possible.
