SEATTLE, Wash. – Clear skies and unseasonably warm days will continue through Tuesday in Seattle before clouds and showers move in by midweek, bringing the return of typical October rain across western Washington.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, high pressure will keep skies mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 70°F and calm winds. The first signs of change arrive late Tuesday night, when a 20% chance of rain develops as a weak front approaches from the Pacific.

By Wednesday morning, rain chances rise to 30%, with scattered showers expected to persist into Thursday. Highs will dip into the low 60s, and overnight lows will hover near 50°F. Light rain may linger through Friday, making for a damp start to the weekend across King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.

Drivers should anticipate slick roads during the Wednesday morning commute and plan for slower travel times, especially along I-5 and SR-520.

More showers are likely to return late Friday into the weekend, marking the region’s shift back to a cooler, wetter pattern.
