Moses Lake, WA – Drivers across parts of Central Washington are being urged to use caution tonight as areas of dense fog develop, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.

The advisory, issued Monday evening, includes the Moses Lake Area, Upper Columbia Basin, and Waterville Plateau. Forecasters say fog could become locally dense through midnight, leading to rapidly changing visibility conditions on regional highways, including U.S. Route 2 and State Route 17.

Motorists are advised to slow down, increase following distances, and use low-beam headlights when driving through fog. Conditions are expected to gradually improve overnight as temperatures drop and light winds increase mixing near the surface.

No widespread impacts are anticipated beyond early Tuesday morning, but drivers should remain alert for patchy fog redeveloping in low-lying areas near sunrise.
