Carnation, WA – Flooding is already underway along the Snoqualmie River, with water levels above flood stage and rising again overnight, threatening roads and farmland across the Snoqualmie Valley through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, the river reached 55.2 feet Wednesday evening, exceeding the 54.0-foot flood stage. Levels are expected to climb to 56.8 feet by early Thursday morning, briefly recede later in the day, then surge again to a higher crest near 57.1 feet by Saturday morning, marking moderate flooding.

Flood impacts will stretch from Fall City through Carnation and into Duvall, where widespread inundation of farmland and numerous low-lying roads is expected. Portions of local roadways near the river may become impassable, especially during peak water levels Thursday morning and again Saturday.

Drivers are urged to avoid barricaded roads and never attempt to cross flooded areas. Emergency officials stress that vehicles are at greatest risk during flood events, even in shallow water.

Water levels should drop below flood stage at times late Thursday and again early Saturday afternoon, but repeated rises will keep the flood threat active into early Sunday morning. Additional updates are expected as river conditions evolve.
