Burien, WA – A drug-sniffing K9 with the King County Sheriff’s Office played a critical role in a major narcotics bust this week that led to the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of large quantities of cocaine, firearms, and cash.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the bust took place on Wednesday, September 4, near Burien, where the Precinct 4 Special Emphasis Team (SET) and SeaTac SET deputies executed a search warrant as part of a drug trafficking investigation. The operation, assisted by dispatchers and the K9 unit named Quinn, resulted in the discovery of 3 pounds of cocaine concealed within snack packaging, three handguns, and nearly $3,000 in alleged drug proceeds.

Photos released by the sheriff’s office show what appear to be Rice Krispies Treats wrappers filled with white substances, along with firearms, cash, and evidence laid out on a table inside a precinct facility. Deputies confirmed the seized cocaine holds an estimated street value of $100,000.

The K9, credited with alerting deputies to key evidence during the search, was praised by officials for his work, earning what the department described as a “perfect 10” performance during the operation. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, and no additional arrests have been reported as of Friday.

Investigators believe the trafficking activity was part of a broader distribution effort in the South King County area. The case remains under investigation, and authorities say additional charges may be filed.

Authorities emphasized the importance of community vigilance and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity as local agencies continue to combat drug-related crime in the region.
