Baltimore, Md. – Showers and thick clouds are slowing commutes across Maryland today, with the I-95 corridor seeing the heaviest impacts from a nearby low-pressure system tracking up the East Coast.
According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, rain and scattered storms will linger through Wednesday evening before a surface high pressure system builds in, clearing skies and calming winds. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s today with north winds between 5 and 10 mph.
By Thursday, conditions improve dramatically. Sunshine will return with highs climbing into the low 80s across Baltimore, Washington, and Frederick. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and 50s, bringing a crisp, early fall feel. Friday will stay warm and dry, with similar highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Drivers along I-95 should anticipate wet roads and reduced visibility until conditions dry out late Wednesday night. Commuters Thursday and Friday will see smoother travel with clear skies. Officials recommend using caution on secondary roads tonight where ponding may occur.
High pressure will remain in place into the weekend, setting up a stretch of comfortable, dry weather.
