The immediate threat shifts Tuesday, with showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall. The high temperature on Tuesday is expected to climb to a warm 84 degrees, with a south wind becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Wednesday brings even warmer air, with a high near 92 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are again possible, mainly after 2 p.m., carrying a 30 percent chance of precipitation. The pattern of afternoon storms continues into the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, which will see mostly sunny skies and a high near 94 degrees, though showers remain possible after 2 p.m.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the heat persists. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 88 degrees, leading into a partly sunny Saturday with temperatures soaring to around 90.
