Jonesborough, TN – A Jonesborough woman was arrested early Saturday after deputies allegedly found more than 20 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies stopped a vehicle on Boones Creek Road around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. The driver told deputies it was a ride-share vehicle. A passenger, identified as Ashley Elizabeth Douglass, 40, was allegedly found with a small green container holding about one gram of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with two loaded needles and a glass pipe.

Deputies also learned Douglass had an active warrant from the Johnson City Police Department for auto theft. She was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where deputies allegedly discovered two concealed baggies containing additional meth. The combined weight totaled 21 grams, authorities said.

Douglass was charged with Manufacture/Delivery/Sale or Possession of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution. Her bond was set at $16,000, which she has posted. Douglass is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday, Oct. 13.
