Washington County, Minnesota – Authorities seized nearly 11 pounds of methamphetamine and two firearms during a February 3 search in Inver Grove Heights, prompting first-degree drug charges.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Washington County Drug Task Force executed a residential search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into large-scale methamphetamine distribution.
A 62-year-old Inver Grove Heights man, Danny Gene Zaccardi, was arrested and has been charged with first-degree sale of a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Officials said he allegedly possessed approximately 10.77 pounds of methamphetamine.
During the search, agents located suspected methamphetamine packaged in multiple baggies throughout a downstairs bedroom, including inside a closet, under a bed and on the floor. Authorities reported that approximately 9.89 pounds field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Investigators said an additional 14 ounces of suspected methamphetamine was recovered from a bag hidden behind a basement couch. Inside that same bag, agents allegedly located two firearms: a Sig Sauer P365 9mm handgun and a Sig Sauer P232 .380 handgun.
Officials said three individuals were inside the residence at the time of the search.
The Washington County Drug Task Force is a multi-agency partnership supported by the North Central High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program, which provides funding and coordination resources to disrupt drug trafficking operations.
Large-scale seizures such as this may impact drug availability across communities and pose broader safety concerns for residents.
