Salem, IN – A Washington County man was arrested Tuesday after Indiana State Police concluded a yearlong investigation that reportedly uncovered multiple images of child pornography.

According to Indiana State Police, the case began in late July 2024 when Detective Travis Baker launched an investigation into an alleged child sexual abuse incident in Washington County. During that investigation, Detective Baker obtained a search warrant for a social media account allegedly linked to a 22-year-old suspect. Police said the search produced thousands of files for review, including photos investigators say showed another juvenile victim unrelated to the original case.

Police reported that the findings were forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office for review. On November 17, 2025, prosecutors obtained an arrest warrant for three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, each classified as a Level 6 felony under Indiana law. The charges stem specifically from the images investigators claim were recovered from the suspect’s account.

Trooper Brett Walters located the suspect in Harrison County on November 18, 2025, and arrested him without incident. He was transported to the Washington County Jail pending further court proceedings.

Investigators have not released additional details about the alleged victims, citing privacy protections for minors. State Police emphasized that all subjects connected to the case remain presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Authorities have not indicated whether further charges may be considered as the review of digital evidence continues.
