Aberdeen, WA – The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Wind Advisory for the northern Washington coast, Grays Harbor County, and the Lower Chehalis River Valley, warning of strong southeast winds up to 45 mph expected Saturday from 6 a.m. through 11 p.m.
According to the advisory, sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts reaching 45 mph may affect areas including Hoquiam, Ocean Shores, Westport, and La Push, with the strongest gusts likely along the exposed coastal zones.
The National Weather Service cautions that loose outdoor objects could be blown around, and tree limbs may fall, possibly leading to isolated power outages. Drivers—especially those operating high-profile vehicles—should use extra caution on U.S. Highway 101 and other open routes near the coast.
Forecasters note that the winds are expected to peak by midday Saturday before gradually tapering off late in the evening. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor furniture and stay alert for utility interruptions.
