Snohomish County, WA – A suspect accused of setting two businesses on fire late Wednesday night was arrested after a brief pursuit involving a K9 deputy, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the agency’s report, the first fire occurred at an occupied business within county jurisdiction, followed by another in Everett roughly two hours later. The same suspect, matching surveillance footage from both locations, was later spotted near Evergreen Way and Pecks Drive in Everett.
When contacted by Deputy Wallin, the man allegedly threw a stick at the deputy and tried to flee. K9 Greg successfully apprehended him after a short chase, officials said.
The suspect was booked on two counts of first-degree arson and resisting arrest, with investigators noting that additional charges may follow. Both incidents involved gasoline used to start the fires, according to authorities.
The Sheriff’s Office credited strong coordination with the Everett Police Department for the swift arrest and confirmed that surveillance footage tied the suspect to the county fire.
Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity.
