The Dalles, OR – Community members are invited to join HAVEN and the Wasco County Domestic Violence Council on Monday, October 21 at 6 p.m. for a domestic violence awareness walk and candlelight vigil.

According to the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office, the event begins at the Civic Center and continues to the Courthouse, where a candle lighting ceremony will honor survivors and victims of domestic violence.

The evening includes a Passion Award presentation, survivor stories, and information on U & T visa education, recognizing efforts to support survivors of abuse and human trafficking.

Organizers say the vigil aims to bring the community together during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, offering space for reflection, healing, and solidarity. Participants are encouraged to wear purple in support of survivors.

The event will be held at the Civic Auditorium, 323 E 4th St., The Dalles, Oregon.
