Warwick, Rhode Island – Final snowfall totals from the late February nor’easter confirm historic accumulations across Rhode Island and Massachusetts Tuesday.

According to the NOAA National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, storm reports compiled as of 3 a.m. EST show the highest snowfall total at T.F. Green International Airport in Warwick, where 37.9 inches were recorded. If verified, that amount would establish a new Rhode Island state record.

In Massachusetts, Bliss Corner reported 37.0 inches, while Norton recorded 31.8 inches and Boston logged 16.9 inches. Newport, Rhode Island measured 34.0 inches, placing it among the highest totals in the region.

Additional significant snowfall reports included 31.0 inches in Islip, New York and 29.5 inches in Bogota, New Jersey, reflecting the storm’s broad impact across the Northeast.

Wind gusts also intensified conditions, with Montauk Point, New York recording 84 mph and Nantucket, Massachusetts reaching 83 mph. Coastal communities in Rhode Island and Massachusetts saw gusts exceeding 70 mph.

Major roadways including Interstate 95 through Rhode Island and Interstate 90 in Massachusetts experienced hazardous travel during peak snowfall rates. Airport operations across New England faced delays as crews worked to clear runways.

The storm brought widespread disruptions to commuters, students, and businesses returning to normal schedules following the multi-day event.
