Warren County, IN – Deputies in Warren County responded Thursday evening to a two-vehicle collision that led to the arrest of a suspect allegedly wanted on multiple felony charges out of Marion County.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 5:21 p.m. on County Road 650 North at the intersection of County Road 600 West. Investigators determined that a 2008 Ford Edge was traveling southbound on County Road 600 West when it allegedly failed to yield to a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado heading westbound on County Road 650 North.
The Ford Edge struck the passenger side of the Silverado, causing it to roll. Authorities say the driver of the Ford Edge fled the scene on foot before first responders arrived.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., deputies located the suspect in Boswell, Indiana. The Sheriff’s Office reported that the driver allegedly had active felony warrants from Marion County for multiple sex-related charges, including rape and sexual misconduct with a minor. The individual was taken into custody and booked into the Warren County Jail.
Additional charges include leaving the scene of an accident and knowingly operating a vehicle without receiving a license.
Responding agencies included Warren County EMS, Williamsport Fire Department, West Lebanon Fire Department, Pine Village Fire Department, Boswell Fire Department, Warren County EMA, and Boswell Police Department.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
