Warner Robins, GA – Snowfall associated with a Winter Storm Warning is expected to create hazardous driving conditions across Warner Robins and surrounding areas early Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service Peachtree City, 1 to 3 inches of snow are forecast between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. EST Sunday, impacting portions of Houston County and much of central Georgia.
The storm is expected to affect major travel routes including Interstate 75, Interstate 16, and U.S. 129, with snow accumulating quickly on untreated roadways. Officials caution that visibility may be reduced during heavier snowfall, and slick spots could develop rapidly.
Communities such as Perry, Cochran, Hawkinsville, Dublin, and Cordele are also included in the warning area. Because winter storms are uncommon in this region, transportation officials warn that road conditions may deteriorate faster than drivers expect.
Emergency officials advise limiting travel if possible and preparing vehicles with emergency supplies. Motorists can access real-time updates on closures and conditions through Georgia 511.
Snow is expected to taper off by early afternoon Sunday, though lingering slick spots may persist into the evening.
