Indianapolis, IN – A warm weekend is ahead for Indiana, but rain and a cold front are expected to disrupt Thanksgiving travel. Saturday’s highs will reach 45 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, climbing to 55 degrees Sunday before rain arrives Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, a 70% chance of rain is forecast Monday, which could impact drivers on major routes like I-465 and I-70. Wind gusts up to 22 mph may make travel more difficult. Rain will continue through Monday night, followed by sharply falling temperatures Tuesday.

Saturday will bring partly cloudy skies with light southwest winds, while Sunday offers highs near 60 degrees, the warmest of the week. However, a cold front arriving Monday night will drop temperatures into the low 40s Tuesday, with a potential for snow flurries in northern parts of the state.

Travelers should plan ahead for wet roads during peak Thanksgiving travel times, as rain could create delays on highways and in urban areas. Those leaving early Tuesday morning may face freezing temperatures, especially in rural areas.

Looking further ahead, Thanksgiving Day is expected to stay cool and cloudy, with highs in the low 40s and a 40% chance of rain. Residents are urged to monitor forecasts for updates, as conditions could change leading up to the holiday.

Be sure to carry an umbrella for weekend outings and use caution if traveling Monday or Tuesday, when the worst weather is expected.
