Ward County, ND Fatal Crash: Minot Man Dies After Police Pursuit Saturday Night

Minot, ND – A 21-year-old Minot man died Saturday night after a vehicle pursuit with police ended in a rollover crash southwest of the city, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on October 25 near the intersection of Ward County Road 14 and 62nd Street SW, about three miles from Minot. Police were pursuing a suspect involved in an alleged felony domestic violence case when the vehicle — a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu — sped westbound and lost control on a gravel road.

The car entered a ditch and rolled several times. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the crash. Agencies assisting included the Minot Police Department, Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Minot Rural Fire Department, and Trinity First Response.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
