Lake Geneva, WI – A vehicle was pulled from Geneva Lake on Sunday morning after emergency crews responded to reports of a car fully submerged in the water.
According to the City of Lake Geneva Fire Department, crews from Stations 281 and 283 were dispatched to the scene, where divers confirmed that no one was inside or immediately around the vehicle. The incident occurred earlier in the day, with the vehicle found overturned near the shoreline.
Fire officials said divers quickly entered the water to inspect the car before securing it for removal. The team then worked with Larry’s Towing & Recovery to lift the vehicle from the lake.
Mutual aid was provided by Fontana Fire and Rescue and the Water Safety Patrol, which helped keep the area clear for divers and ensured boater safety during the recovery operation.
Authorities have not yet released information on how the vehicle entered the water or who it belongs to. No injuries were reported, and the area has since been cleared.
The Lake Geneva Fire Department thanked all assisting crews and reminded the public to use caution near boat launches and lakefront areas as water levels and conditions can change quickly.
