Walla Walla, WA – Drivers in southeastern Washington should prepare for hazardous visibility overnight as dense fog continues to blanket the region. The National Weather Service in Pendleton issued a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 10 a.m. PST Wednesday, November 12.
According to the National Weather Service, visibility may fall to one-quarter mile or less in the Foothills of the Blue Mountains, including Walla Walla, Dayton, and Waitsburg. The fog has already been reported in several areas along Route 12, creating potentially dangerous travel conditions for commuters and overnight drivers.
Motorists are urged to slow down, use headlights, and increase following distance to stay safe. The advisory remains in effect through the Wednesday morning commute, when fog may linger before gradually lifting by late morning as temperatures rise.
The NWS warns that sudden changes in visibility can occur without notice, especially in low-lying areas and near rivers. Travelers should check local forecasts before heading out and allow extra time for morning travel.
