Wakefield, VA – A stretch of dry and sunny weather continues across southeast Virginia as high pressure remains firmly in control through the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield.
According to NWS forecasters, any lingering morning clouds will dissipate today, giving way to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Breezy west winds will be the main weather feature, with gusts between 20 and 30 mph expected. Highs today will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s across the region, with lows tonight dipping into the upper 20s to mid-30s inland and mid-30s to mid-40s closer to the coast.
Friday brings more sunshine with less wind, offering a calm and mild end to the workweek. Highs will reach the mid-50s to low 60s, and winds ease considerably compared to Thursday.
A warm-up arrives Saturday as temperatures climb into the upper 50s to around 70 degrees, especially in inland locations west of I-95. Skies will remain mostly sunny for much of the day, though cloud cover may begin to increase late in the afternoon and evening as the next weather system approaches.
Despite the increasing clouds, the overall pattern remains dry through Saturday, with no rainfall expected. The region will continue to enjoy mild, comfortable weather conditions heading into the second half of the weekend.
Forecasters note that the current setup is typical of late-autumn high-pressure dominance, offering cool mornings, warm afternoons, and clear skies.
