Wakefield, VA – A chilly end to the week will give way to a milder weekend across much of central and eastern Virginia, though patchy frost could develop early Friday west of Interstate 95.

According to the US National Weather Service in Wakefield, temperatures will dip into the upper 30s to mid-40s overnight, with patchy frost possible in rural areas of the Piedmont. Friday will turn pleasant and sunny, with highs in the low to mid-60s.

By Saturday, temperatures moderate into the upper 60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies. Clouds will begin increasing late in the day as a weak weather system approaches, bringing a chance of light rain Sunday night into Monday.

Forecasters say the weekend will feature ideal fall conditions for most of Virginia, with cooler air early and mild afternoons through Sunday.
