Dallas, Texas – North Texas will remain locked in summer heat through the weekend, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid to upper 90s and heat index values pushing near 105 degrees. The National Weather Service warns that the sweltering conditions will persist through Sunday, creating potential hazards for those outdoors for extended periods.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing 30–40% coverage across the region. Storms may deliver brief downpours, gusty winds, and lightning, but will also offer temporary relief from the heat. By Thursday and Friday, rain chances drop to 20% or less, with isolated showers possible.
Cities from Dallas and Waco to Killeen and Paris will see little variation in daily highs, staying firmly in the 94–98°F range. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours, and never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
Heat advisories are not currently in place, but forecasters say conditions could warrant alerts if humidity increases further. More updates are expected early next week as storm timing becomes clearer.
