Fort Worth, Texas – Dangerous heat will continue to bake much of North and Central Texas through midweek, with heat index values climbing as high as 108°F and actual temperatures hitting the low 100s by Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, no significant changes are expected through Wednesday, with highs ranging from the mid-90s to around 100°F across Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, and Temple. While there’s a slight 20% chance of storms in Central Texas on Sunday afternoon, most areas will stay dry.

The persistent heat will be most intense during afternoon hours, particularly from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., when “feels like” temperatures may peak. In Dallas-Fort Worth, highs will climb from 96°F Sunday to 100°F by Wednesday. Waco and Killeen will see steady highs in the mid to upper 90s through the period.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, and never leave children or pets in vehicles. Frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas are essential.

This stretch of high heat is expected to last through the end of July. Additional heat advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
