Annandale, VA – Strong winds will sweep through northern Virginia today, with gusts up to 50 mph expected between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Advisory is in effect for Fairfax, Arlington, and surrounding areas. These high winds could cause downed tree limbs, scattered power outages, and hazardous driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Thursday will bring calmer conditions with sunny skies and a high of 48°F, while rain returns overnight into Friday, bringing a 100% chance of showers. The weekend looks mostly dry with highs in the upper 40s and partly cloudy skies.

Drivers should use caution on open highways and bridges today. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and prepare for possible power disruptions.
