According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, high temperatures today will range from the low to mid 60s in the mountains and mid 70s across the Piedmont. Showers are most likely later in the day, with thunderstorms possible in the Southside region. Temperatures tonight could plunge into the low 30s in higher elevations, with widespread frost possible in areas like Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Saturday ushers in drier and cooler air, with mostly sunny skies expected across the region. Highs will stay in the mid 60s in the mountains and may reach the low 70s farther east. Overnight lows remain chilly—some areas may dip into the upper 30s and low 40s.
