Blacksburg, VA – A warm and dry weekend awaits Virginia residents, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s to low 80s across the state. However, rain is set to make a return by Monday night, accompanied by a cold front that will bring cooler weather to the region through Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures ahead of the cold front will remain in the upper 70s to low 80s on Sunday, before the front ushers in cooler conditions. Areas west of the Blue Ridge Mountains can expect highs in the low to mid-70s, while areas east of the mountains will see temperatures dip to the upper 70s to low 80s.

Rain chances will begin to increase Monday night, especially west of the Blue Ridge, and continue into Tuesday. Drivers should be aware of potential wet roadways as the rain moves through. Residents are advised to prepare for changing conditions, including the possibility of scattered showers as the cold front passes.

By Tuesday, temperatures will cool significantly, with highs ranging from 70°F to 75°F. Warnings or additional weather advisories could be issued depending on rain intensity.
