Blacksburg, Virginia – Dry and sunny conditions will kick off the week across southwest Virginia, with temperatures near seasonal averages before a warmer and wetter pattern develops later this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Monday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs ranging from 51 to 61 degrees. Tuesday turns partly sunny and milder, with highs climbing into the mid-50s to mid-60s.

Cloud cover increases Wednesday as temperatures rise well above normal for mid-February, with highs between 56 and 66 degrees.

Rain chances return late Thursday as a series of fronts move through the region. Scattered showers are possible Thursday, with additional chances for rain lingering into Friday and potentially into the weekend.

Residents across the New River Valley, Roanoke Valley, and surrounding mountain communities should enjoy the dry start to the week while preparing for a more unsettled pattern by the end of the week.
