Richmond, Virginia – Temperatures are climbing into the 50s this afternoon, but a quick drop into the 30s overnight will bring a chilly start for early Friday commuters.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, dry conditions and partly sunny skies will hold across eastern and central Virginia today. High temperatures will range from the low to upper 50s, including near 58 degrees in Richmond, 56 in Williamsburg, and around 55 in Norfolk.
The mild afternoon will fade quickly after sunset as temperatures fall into the mid to upper 30s overnight. Areas across central Virginia, including Farmville and Petersburg, could see lows near 35 degrees by early Friday morning, while coastal locations like Virginia Beach and Accomack remain slightly milder in the upper 30s.
Drivers should be prepared for a cooler start Friday, especially during the early morning commute when temperatures are at their lowest.
