Virginia – Rain is pushing into Virginia Beach this morning, and umbrellas are already flipping in a steady onshore breeze. Pavement along I-264 and Shore Drive is turning slick as showers expand after sunrise.

The National Weather Service reports rain becoming likely after 4 p.m., with a 90% chance of precipitation. Highs reach near 51 degrees. Rainfall totals between one and two inches are possible through tonight, especially under heavier bands.

Winds shift from southwest to southeast this afternoon at 6 to 9 mph. That onshore flow keeps the air damp and cool. Expect pooling on low-lying roads and reduced visibility in heavier rain.

Tonight brings the heaviest push. Rain continues before 4 a.m. and may fall hard at times. Lows dip to 38 degrees with breezy east winds at 10 to 14 mph, gusting near 19 mph. Plan extra time if you’re traveling late.

Washington’s Birthday turns cooler and unsettled. A chance of rain lingers before 7 a.m., with highs near 43 degrees. North winds increase to 15 to 25 mph, adding a biting feel to the coast.
