Blacksburg, VA – Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected to persist across Virginia today and into Monday, bringing possible damage from high winds and intense rain. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that these storms could result in localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions, particularly in the late afternoon and evening hours.

According to NWS Blacksburg, today’s temperatures will range between 83°F and 92°F, with lows between 67°F and 74°F. The storms are expected to continue throughout the day, with damaging winds and heavy rainfall being the main threats. Monday’s forecast calls for a slightly cooler range of 77°F to 88°F, with showers and thunderstorms expected to develop in the afternoon and continue into the evening.

In the wake of this stormy weather, a cooler and drier air mass will move in by Tuesday, bringing a more comfortable forecast with highs between 77°F and 83°F. Conditions will remain mostly cloudy but dry, with lows between 63°F and 67°F.

Travelers are advised to stay alert for sudden downpours and potential flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas. By Tuesday, conditions are expected to improve significantly, but remain cautious if traveling over the next 48 hours.
