Norfolk, VA – Increasing clouds and gusty winds will take hold across eastern Virginia this afternoon, with scattered showers moving in by early evening and impacting travel through the night.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, a weak cold front will push into the region, bringing rain chances beginning around 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs reaching the mid-60s near the coast and into the mid-70s inland before cooling into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees overnight.

Cities including Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Richmond, and Newport News will see breezy conditions develop during the afternoon, with winds making it feel cooler near the coast. Roads such as I-64 and I-264 could become slick during periods of light rain this evening, especially during peak travel hours.

Conditions improve Saturday with partly sunny skies and highs between 70 and 75 degrees, followed by even warmer temperatures Sunday nearing 80 degrees in some inland areas.

The unsettled pattern briefly returns Monday with additional shower chances, while mild and breezy conditions continue. More updates are expected if rain coverage increases later tonight.
