Wakefield, VA – A round of rain and isolated thunderstorms is expected across eastern and central Virginia late Tuesday through Wednesday, potentially affecting Thanksgiving travel, according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield.
Showers will spread east through the afternoon and become more widespread overnight, with a few brief thunderstorms possible. Rainfall totals of 0.10 to 0.25 inches are forecast across most of the region, including Richmond, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach.
Rain will taper off from west to east during Wednesday afternoon, followed by a sharp drop in temperatures as cooler air moves in Wednesday night.
Motorists should use caution during periods of rain and reduced visibility, especially along Interstates 64 and 95, where wet pavement could slow travel.
