Blacksburg, VA – The National Weather Service in Blacksburg reports that widespread rain is expected to continue through Wednesday morning, bringing steady precipitation across southwest Virginia and the Blue Ridge region.
Rainfall totals will generally range between 0.25 and 1.5 inches, with the heaviest amounts likely along the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest Virginia and northwestern North Carolina. Despite the moderate rainfall, forecasters note that ongoing drought conditions will help limit flood potential.
Travelers should prepare for wet roads, reduced visibility, and slower Thanksgiving travel in parts of southern and western Virginia.
The NWS advises monitoring local updates for changes in rainfall intensity or timing through Wednesday.
