Blacksburg, VA – Heavy rain will move into Blacksburg late Thursday night, with downpours and possible flooding expected Friday, especially along the I-64 corridor. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are likely, with localized areas exceeding 2 inches.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin after 10 p.m. Thursday, intensifying by Friday morning before tapering off by Friday night. Winds could reach up to 21 mph, and flooding may occur in low-lying areas. Motorists should drive with caution, as wet roads and reduced visibility could make travel hazardous.

Saturday will bring decreasing clouds and a high near 50°F, followed by a partly sunny Sunday with highs in the upper 40s. Next week, expect a warming trend, with Monday reaching 59°F under mostly sunny skies.

Residents should prepare for potential flooding, secure loose outdoor objects, and check for local alerts. Stay updated by following the National Weather Service and local emergency channels.
