Blacksburg, VA – Residents in Blacksburg will experience a significant warm-up early this week before rain moves in Thursday, bringing cooler temperatures by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will start with a high of 48°F under mostly sunny skies. Winds from the northwest could gust up to 26 mph before calming overnight, with temperatures dropping to 31°F.

By Tuesday, sunny skies and calmer winds will allow temperatures to climb to 69°F, followed by a high of 75°F on Wednesday—one of the warmest days of the season so far. However, cloud cover will increase Wednesday night ahead of an approaching weather system.

Thursday will bring a shift, with a 60% chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m. Highs will only reach the mid-50s as cooler air moves in. By Friday, sunshine will return with a high near 54°F, though nighttime lows could dip into the mid-30s.

Looking ahead to the weekend, scattered showers are possible Saturday, but Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with highs in the low 60s.

Residents should enjoy the warmth early in the week before preparing for rain and cooler temperatures later on.
