According to the National Weather Service, both cities will see clear skies and light winds on Tuesday, with highs around 70°F. Overnight lows will remain in the low 40s, making for cool but comfortable evenings. Similar conditions will continue through Wednesday and Thursday, with mostly sunny skies and daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 60s.
By Friday, temperatures will climb to near 70°F, though clouds will gradually increase ahead of an approaching system. Rain chances rise on Saturday, with a 50% chance of showers in Annandale and a 90% likelihood in Blacksburg. Sunday is expected to be the wettest day, with an 80% chance of rain and highs in the mid-60s.
Travelers on major routes, including I-66 and I-81, should be prepared for potential wet roads over the weekend. Those with outdoor plans should take advantage of the dry conditions through Friday before showers arrive.
Spring is officially in the air, and the next few days will bring some of the best weather Virginia has seen in weeks.
