Loudoun County, VA – A Loudoun County Public Schools bus was struck by an SUV Wednesday afternoon, leaving multiple people injured and leading to the arrest of the driver involved.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 3:22 p.m. to the 34000 block of Leesburg Pike after reports of the crash. One adult man was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, while two juveniles were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Deputies determined during their investigation that the SUV driver was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the collision. Authorities identified the driver as Thomas Allen Broomall, 49, of Charles Town, West Virginia. He was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. Broomall was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
