Richmond, VA – A weeklong crime suppression effort by Virginia State Police has led to major narcotics seizures, firearm recoveries, and ongoing human trafficking investigations across the Commonwealth.

According to Virginia State Police, the operation ran from August 20 to August 27 and involved collaboration with federal and local agencies. Officers reportedly seized 51.7 pounds of narcotics, including 15.3 pounds of cocaine, 8.2 ounces of methamphetamine, and more than 34 pounds of marijuana. Authorities also confiscated 2,000 fentanyl pills and 16 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms. The combined street value of the drugs was estimated at more than $826,000.

Troopers additionally recovered 10 firearms valued at $5,000 and seized $32,163 in U.S. currency. A homicide case was also initiated during the course of the operation.

Police reported that 17 gaming-related tips were submitted, bringing the total to 1,800 so far this year. Investigators also received 13 new human trafficking tips. Of those, 218 cases remain under investigation. In total, 3,220 individual investigative activities were documented and 69 victims were identified and offered services.
