Richmond, VA – After a weekend of heavy rainfall, Virginia and southern New Jersey will see dry conditions through midweek, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center.

Up to 5 inches of rain fell across southeastern Virginia, with Toano receiving the highest total at 5.03 inches. Other notable rainfall amounts included 4.82 inches in North Blenheim and 3.80 inches in Salisbury, Maryland. Despite the heavy rain, no additional precipitation is expected through Wednesday.

The lack of rainfall should help stabilize conditions, though small to moderate rises in rivers are anticipated through Tuesday. Areas along the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware River may experience minor flooding, but significant impacts are not expected.

Officials advise residents to remain cautious near rising waterways and monitor local forecasts for any updates. For the latest weather information, visit weather.gov/marfc.
