Washington, D.C. – Drivers across the Mid-Atlantic could face water-covered roads during peak commute hours starting early Saturday as multiple rain systems move through the region.
According to the National Weather Service, a 50–70% probability of above-normal precipitation will impact Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania through midweek, while temperatures trend 5 to 10 degrees above average.
Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Richmond will see rounds of rain, especially during morning and evening travel. Key corridors including I-95, I-66, and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway may experience pooling water and reduced visibility.
Philadelphia and Norfolk also remain in the wet zone, with storm drains likely to be overwhelmed during heavier bursts.
Residents should avoid flooded roadways, keep devices charged, and allow extra travel time. Transit delays are possible during heavier rain periods.
Rain chances continue through Wednesday, with additional advisories possible if rainfall totals climb.
