Virginia: Excavator Crash on I-95 in Henrico Causes Major Delays

Henrico, VA – An excavator struck the Parham Road overpass on Interstate 95 South in Henrico on Tuesday morning, triggering a multi-vehicle crash and significant traffic disruptions.

According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. near mile marker 83. The impact caused debris to fall onto the roadway, where five vehicles collided with the wreckage. Authorities reported no serious injuries.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are assessing the overpass for structural damage while lane closures remain in effect. Officials are advising drivers to expect major delays and seek alternate routes.

Authorities have not yet released further details on how the excavator struck the overpass. The crash remains under investigation.
