Spotsylvania, VA – Residents will have a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused or expired medications this Saturday, October 25, 2025, during National Drug Take Back Day, hosted by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. across multiple county locations.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, community members can drop off pills, tablets, capsules, and patches — no questions asked — at four collection sites:

  • Chancellor’s Village, 12100 Chancellor’s Village, Fredericksburg, VA
  • CVS Courtland Commons, 9767 Courthouse Rd, Spotsylvania, VA
  • Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, 4600 Spotsylvania Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA
  • MWH Free Standing Emergency Department, 10401 Spotsylvania Ave, Fredericksburg, VA (only accepting sharps at this site)

Officials emphasize that liquids, needles, and sharps are not accepted at most locations. The initiative helps prevent prescription drug misuse, protects the environment, and keeps unwanted medications out of the wrong hands.

“Events like this make a real difference in community safety,” said Senior Deputy Margarida Figueroa, who is coordinating the effort.
