Wakefield, VA – Virginia is preparing for a week of unpredictable weather as Tropical Storm Debby looms offshore and temperatures soar. The National Weather Service Wakefield, VA, reported that while today is expected to be seasonably warm with highs in the upper 80s to around 90, the weather is set to change dramatically.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered late-day and evening showers and storms are anticipated, with locally heavy rainfall possible. The greatest concern, however, is Tropical Storm Debby. The storm is currently moving north off the coast of Florida and is expected to intensify, potentially bringing hurricane conditions to the Florida Big Bend on Monday.

In Virginia, Debby’s impact is less certain but still concerning. The mid to late week period could see heavy rainfall, flooding, and an increased risk of dangerous rip currents along the coast. Residents are advised to monitor updates as the storm’s track and intensity remain uncertain.

The forecast for the coming days shows a mix of conditions. Monday will see a significant rise in temperatures, with highs reaching 92°F under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday is expected to be slightly cooler with a high of 89°F and cloudy conditions. Rain returns on Wednesday with a 60% chance of showers and highs around 84°F. The rest of the week will remain unsettled, with rain chances each day and temperatures in the low to mid-80s.
