Virginia Beach, VA – Residents should prepare for a significant surge in heat on Wednesday as temperatures climb into the low 90s. The combination of heat and humidity will make it feel as hot as 103 degrees, creating potentially dangerous conditions for outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 93°F. A southwest wind of 10 to 14 mph will offer little relief from the oppressive heat. Health officials advise residents to stay hydrated, seek air-conditioned spaces, and limit strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day, especially between noon and 5 p.m.

The heat continues into the Juneteenth holiday, with a high of 92°F expected. However, the weather pattern will begin to shift. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns after 2 p.m. on Thursday, followed by a more significant 50% chance of thunderstorms Thursday night before 2 a.m. Residents with outdoor plans for the holiday should stay aware of changing sky conditions.

The unsettled weather lingers into Friday, which is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 86°F. The weekend brings a return to calmer conditions. Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s and lows in the low 70s. The sunny and warm trend appears to continue into early next week, with a high near 90°F forecasted for Monday.

Here is the five-day forecast for Virginia Beach:
