Richmond, Virginia – Highs near 60 degrees will bring a warm midweek afternoon along the I-95 corridor before cooler air returns Thursday and Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, today will be another warm day across central and eastern Virginia, with highs reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s for most areas. Communities along Interstate 95 in Richmond and Interstate 64 toward Norfolk and Newport News are expected to see temperatures near 58 to 60 degrees.
The Eastern Shore will remain slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Cooler temperatures return Thursday and Friday, with highs dropping into the mid-40s across much of the region and upper 30s on the Eastern Shore. A chance of light showers exists Thursday morning, primarily across southeastern Virginia and northeast North Carolina, though most locations will remain dry through Friday.
By Saturday, temperatures rebound into the mid to upper 50s under partly sunny skies. Another system may approach Sunday, bringing increased rain chances and highs near the upper 40s to around 50 degrees.
Drivers along Interstate 95, Interstate 64, U.S. Route 13 on the Eastern Shore, and U.S. Route 50 toward Salisbury should prepare for fluctuating temperatures and possible wet roads late weekend.
