Richmond, VA — A cold front pushed through Virginia, Maryland, and much of the Mid-Atlantic overnight, leaving behind cooler temperatures and limited precipitation across the region.

According to the Mid-Atlantic River Forecast Center (MARFC), most locations received less than 0.1 inches of rain through early Monday morning. The front, which moved out by mid-morning, is being followed by a brief dry spell. However, forecasters warn that another weak system will pass south of the region beginning Tuesday night and linger into Wednesday.

Rainfall from the upcoming system is expected to remain light, with most locations in Virginia, Maryland, and southern Pennsylvania seeing less than 0.5 inches of rain total. Heavier precipitation is unlikely, and no flooding is currently forecast.

Drivers are encouraged to watch for slick spots during early morning hours, especially in shaded or elevated areas where moisture may linger. Commuters and school districts should monitor local alerts for any minor travel delays Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

This pattern is typical for late March in the Mid-Atlantic, with unsettled but generally low-impact weather. Residents are advised to keep an umbrella handy and remain weather-aware as the next round of rain approaches.
