Wakefield, VA – Mostly cloudy and cooler conditions are expected across eastern Virginia today, with temperatures topping out in the 53°–60° range. The National Weather Service in Wakefield reports that partial sunshine is possible later this afternoon, especially across southern areas.
According to forecasters, a warming trend begins Friday as a low-pressure system approaches from the west. Highs will climb into the upper 50s to upper 60s, but the system will also bring a renewed chance of rain, particularly for inland and northern parts of the region. Showers become more likely Friday evening into Saturday as moisture increases.
Saturday will be warmer with highs 59°–73°, though rain chances persist through the day before much cooler air arrives overnight. Lows Saturday night fall into the 32°–44° range as drier conditions begin to take hold.
Looking ahead, forecasters expect dry weather to return Sunday, with the next chance for rain coming Tuesday when another system approaches the Mid-Atlantic.
