Vilas County, WI – A winter storm warning remains in effect for Vilas County until 6 a.m. Thursday, bringing additional snowfall and treacherous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected to accumulate early this morning. Blowing snow is reducing visibility to less than 1/4 mile in some areas, creating hazardous driving conditions across the region.

Residents are urged to use caution if traveling and to ensure emergency supplies, such as flashlights, food, and water, are readily available in vehicles. Slippery roads and poor visibility could lead to delays or accidents. For updated road conditions, dial 511.

The storm is expected to ease by mid-morning, but commuters should remain vigilant as cleanup efforts continue throughout the day.
