Vigo County, IN – A woman was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a truck at the Love’s Truck Stop in southern Vigo County.

According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 9:23 a.m. to the truck stop located at 1740 East Harlan Drive in reference to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. When first responders arrived, they found a female pedestrian who had been hit by a truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the incident occurred as a truck was backing into a parking space when the woman was struck. Sheriff’s officials confirmed the truck driver was transported to a local hospital for testing, where results for drugs and alcohol came back negative.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending family notification. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Honey Creek Fire/Rescue, and Trans-Care Ambulance all responded to the scene.
